"IN THIS CORNER WEIGHING IN AT 13 1/2 POUNDS IS HANK THE GENTLE GIANT".

Hank is in training for his next canned tuna eating contest and  we think he will win!  He was abandoned at a fairground and was  rescued by a kind lady who found him to be laid-back with nothing  seeming to bother him.  He rides quietly in a car, doesn't mind a  harness and leash and gets along with other cats and dogs.  He is  quite a loving bundle to cuddle and is still putting on weight!   Perfect for a busy bustling home where he would offer a peaceful  presence.
Hank is a handsome 3 year old male who has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. He is quite healthy right now, and for more information on what this means long term please call us. he could live with other FELV positive kitties or as an only cat...and certainly with doggie friends!

Canned Food and Litter Shortage

Due to the pet food recall, HART' s source of canned cat food is experiencing a shortage. Our kitties rely on wet food to supplement their dry food diet as well as an aid in taking their medications. HART is gladly accepting donations of canned cat food such as 9-Lives, Friskies, Fancy Feast. And they also enjoy the Whiska's pouches. We are also in need of non-clumping clay litter.Donations may be left at the shelter door (see directions, below). The kitties and volunteers thank you!

SAVE YOUR SHAW'S RECEIPTS

Shaw's has very graciously agreed to give HART 1% of all the receipts we can gather from their stores. All you need to do is save your grocery receipts from Shaw’s and send them to HART. Every time you shop at Shaw’s and give your receipt to HART, you help us to buy food and to supply veterinary care for our cats. You might also consider collecting receipts from friends, family and co-workers. This is an ongoing fund raiser, so please keep saving and sending HART your Shaw’s receipts.

Receipts can be left in the mailbox at our shelter on Range Road in Cumberland (directions, below) or mailed to:

PO Box 351

We appreciate the difference you and Shaw’s can make to support HART and all of our cats in need. Please contact Mary Lindholm (cell: 632-7386) with questions.

Introducing HART'S Sponsorship Program

HART has a new sponsorship program for any of our over 100 shelter residents for as little as 15.00 $ a month. This is a great opportunity to support our shelter and have a direct impact on the life of the kitty you choose to sponsor. Please click on the following link for more information: HART Sponsorship Program

Adopting a friend

We are a shelter run completely by volunteers, so our hours of operation are by appointment. Call us and stop by for a visit! Our adoption fee is $75. All cats at HART are current on their vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and tested. HART wishes to place all cats with owners who will provide them with an indoor-only lifestyle.

Free Boarding

Falmouth Happy Cats is a wonderful alternative to the traditional boarding of cats. They are pleased to offer new pet owners adopting from HART one night of free boarding at their facility. Falmouth Happy Cats will also donate the cost of one night’s boarding back to HART. Therefore, it is a win win situation! Please use the link below to find out more information about this exciting opportunity.

Thank you to Petfinder.com for helping us place so many cats since we've started showing them on this site! Some of our harder to place kitties have found wonderful homes because of Petfinder.com.
